One of Dr. Aljure-Estrada’s primary jobs is teaching her patients how to keep their teeth healthy. Good at-home care and regular office visits can go a very long way toward keeping a patient’s teeth and mouth in very good condition. And that prevents painful toothaches, tooth loss and the need for dental treatment!
Examination and Cleaning
Making it to your dentist’s office for regular examinations and cleanings is a very healthy habit. At Land O’ Lakes Dental Care, we will help you maintain the right schedule to protect your teeth. When you’re in our office, we will thoroughly clean away tartar and polish your teeth to prevent the formation of cavities.
Digital Imaging
We use an up-to-date digital imaging system for your x-rays, which means lower exposure to x-rays and an easy, detailed display of your x-rays in your treatment room so you can see exactly what we see.
Prevention with Fluoride and Sealants
For children and those prone to cavities, we recommend fluoride treatments and the applications of sealants to the teeth. Fluoride is known to harden enamel and so helps protect teeth from the harmful effects of plaque. Sealants applied to the grooves and crevices of the teeth helps prevent the bacteria in plaque from attacking these vulnerable surfaces.
Education
We take our responsibility for educating our patients quite seriously. We want you to be able to keep your teeth healthy and know that daily brushing and flossing are vital. We’ll also instruct you on other healthy practices like not biting your nails. And we will watch for signs that you are grinding your teeth at night, as well.
